Kevin Thirouin

Kevin Ryan Thirouin is a 2010 graduate of Golden High School
in Golden, Colorado. In April 2009 Kevin
saw a presentation by Mr. Mohammed Yahya at the University of Denver. Coming
from a socially aware family background, Kevin decided he wanted to do more to
help raise the awareness of the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. From the fall of
2009 to the present, Kevin has been raising awareness in a number of ways. He
fulfilled the first step in his goal by organizing a series of presentations by
Mr. Yahya for the student body of Golden High School. The presentations were so
well received that many of the students and staff members decided to go beyond
this one event and agreed to continue the work to raise awareness that will
eventually end the genocides in Darfur and elsewhere in the world.
Now that Kevin has graduated high school, he will be
continuing his work more seriously by giving short presentations to various
Rotary clubs around the Denver Metro area. He is currently planning to attend
college and wants to major in international relations. At age 17, Kevin
continues his work with the help of Mr. David Hashemi, Mr. Elias Euler, and
others who have been moved by Mr. Yahya’s presentations and want to make a
difference in the world around them.
