Damanga Joins the nation in Grieving for the Victims of Virginia Tech

Damanga Coalition for Freedom and Democracy joins with Virginians throughout the Commonwealth on this statewide day of mourning, and with people througout the country, as they send their love and prayers to the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings and their families.

Virginia Tech has been among the many campus communities that has actively contributed to the movement to protect the people of Darfur.  Indeed, four of Monday's victims were members of the Virginia Tech chapter of STAND.  I am so appreciative of the energy and compassion of all of Virginia Tech's students, and so saddened by the tragedy that befell them this week.  I can understand all too well the pain and loss that they are suffering.  On behalf of the staff and board of Damanga, and all the members of our coalition, I express our deepest sympathies, and I offer our support in the long healing process that lies ahead.

Sincerely,

Mohamed A. Yahya
Executive Director
