damanga Commends George clooney for his peace initiatives

        The Damanga Coalition for Freedom and Democracy applauds American actor and director, George Clooney, for his commitment to help end suffering in Darfur. Clooney, a UN peace messenger, has been advocating on behalf of Darfur for several years. Most recently, he is urging sponsors of the Beijing Games to pressure China to help create peace in Darfur. One major sponsor of the 2008 Olympics, Omega Watches, endorses Clooney as an advertiser for its brand. Clooney has recommended that Omega Watches utilize its affiliation with the Olympic Games to produce a positive change for Darfur. Although Omega Watches insists that it must separate politics from the sporting events, Clooney has stated that he will continue to talk with both parties and hopes that an understanding will be reached between Omega Watches and the Government of China. The Damanga Coalition for Freedom and Democracy praises Clooney for his initiatives and hopes his work will bring peace to the Darfur region. Additionally, Damanga commends actor Don Cheadle and actresses Mia Farrow and Angelina Jolie as well as film director Steven Spielberg for their praiseworthy efforts in Darfur. Damanga hopes that more media icons will utilize their influence to inspire change for Darfur.
