Damanga
responds to al bashir's false accusations against israel
May 15, 2008
Damanga
Coalition for Freedom and Democracy was astonished by
the rhetoric and irresponsible claims against the Israeli
government by Omar Hassan Al-bashir, President of the
fundamentalist National Islamic Regime "NIF".
Yesterday in Khartoum he said that the Israeli government
was behind last week’s rebel attacks on May 10,
2008 in the capital of Khartoum. Al-bashir followed
his claims by stating fake accusations that the Israeli
government had bribed the rebel leader of JEM, Khalil
Ibrahim, to carry out
their attacks to overthrow the Sudanese leaders. These
negligent claims are ridiculous and based on lies without
any evidence against the government of Israel.
In fact, Israel has played a humanitarian role in supporting
Darfuri refugees who had been killed, detained, raped,
and humiliated by the evil forces from Khartoum. These
desperate refugees were ill treated by the neighboring
Muslim countries that border on Sudan. For example when
the Dafuri refugees fled to Egypt they were harassed
and disrespected by the authorities. Finding no security
or hope in Egypt, many of the refugees risked their
lives to walk across the desert in order to enter Israel.
They could have been shot by Egyptian police and border
guards along the way.
Once the refugees entered Israel, they were greeted
in a positive manner and their lives were not threatened
like in other countries. The refugees have been hosted
in various cities, they have been provided health care,
food, shelter, education for the children and jobs for
the adults. The escaped Darfuris were treated with respect
that didn’t exist in their native country of Sudan.
In addition, the Israeli government has granted visas
and citizenship ID cards for many of the Sudanese expatriates.
Finally Israel is still opening its borders and hearts
to welcome additional refugees who are looking for safety
and protection, as they flee one of the most brutal
dictatorial governments on the face of the earth.
The Sudanese government claims to be a good Muslim
country but in reality they have killed and humiliated
their own citizens and destroyed their property and
homes. There is great shame placed on the leaders in
Khartoum for these genocidal actions. However, Israelis,
Jews, Christians and others have done their best to
help the refugees from the Darfur region in Sudan. The
opposite can be said for Al-bashir and his Arab and
Muslim allies who have been so cruel to their own people.
Therefore,
Damanga Coalition for Freedom and Democracy is asking
the Sudanese NIF Regime to stop their unfair accusations
against Israel and other nations. Furthermore, compliments
are extended to the Chadian government who has hosted
Darfuri refugees in overwhelming numbers that total
almost 350,000 people. They should receive a great deal
of admiration and appreciation for their good works.
Other countries which have significant numbers of refugees
from Sudan include the USA, Canada, Australia, Scandinavia
and other European countries.
Finally, Damanga is very concerned about the deteriorating
situation in Darfur and Khartoum since last weekend’s
attack. After the attacks, Al-bashir’s government
went on a vicious series of retaliatory strikes that
consisted of attacking Darfuri residents of Khartoum
while they were in their homes. The maltreatment involved
beating innocent people, massive arbitrary detention
and the killing of innocent prisoners by falsely claiming
that they supported the JEM movement. Damanga urges
the International Community to immediately intervene
to protect the Darfuri civilians from the ongoing genocide
inside the capital of Khartoum and Omdurman. Damanga
also urges the International Community to pressure Khartoum
to stop harassing innocent lives, and to face the consequences
of crimes against humanity and genocide.
Thank you.
