August 17, 2009
Damanga coalition for Freedom and Democracy was saddened by the tragic death of
Mr. Kenneth Bacon. Mr. Bacon was the Executive director of the Refugees International Organization. One of the leading organizations based in Washington DC, and has dozens of branches across the world. Mr. Bacon was diagnosed with cancer and struggled with this terrible disease recently until he passed away this last weekend,Saturday, August 15, 2009.
Mr. Kenneth Bacon was one of most generous, honest supporters of the Darfur issue and Damanga. He worked tirelessly to promote justice and peace in Darfur and save the lives of innocents in Sudan and elsewhere around the world. "I have known Mr. Bacon for more than 6 years," Said: Mohamed Yahya. "We worked together for Darfur, South Sudan, and other areas in Africa and Middle-east, where so many refugees lives are at stake. Mr. Bacon has fought for all of us to demand security, Freedom and Democracy in our countries. Mr. Bacon was a strong supporter to Damanga and he never hesitated to help in many ways possible to keep Damanga moving forward, especially, during this economic and recession difficulties. He donated room to host Damanga until we got passed the difficult challenges."
We owe Mr. Bacon and his beloved family and RI so much. Someone like Bacon was not easy to be replaced. We will miss him forever. But we will always pray for him and ask our Lord to place him in heaven and rest his loving soul in peace. Our deepest condolences to his family, relatives and friends.
